Study
The following specialisation options exist:
- "Electrochemical energy conversion and storage" deals primarily with the use of chemical energy. Objects of this specialisation are e.g. batteries, fuel cells and the field of electromobility.
 - "Semiconductor-based energy conversion" focuses on techniques such as solar cells or thermoelectrics.
 - In the area of "fluid-based energy conversion", the focus is on energy sources such as hydropower or wind power.
 - "Thermal energy conversion and storage" deals with the use of plant materials as renewable raw materials, e.g. in the form of biofuel.

Objectives
The aim of the degree programme is to build on a systematic overview of the entire field of sustainable energy systems/regenerative energies, to acquire in-depth specialist knowledge in individually selected areas of this field, to become familiar with the theoretical and application-related aspects of the subject and to enable students to work scientifically. This degree programme enables students to acquire a broad, integrative and interdisciplinary knowledge in the field of sustainable energy technology from the subject areas of process engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, natural sciences and environmental science.
Career Perspectives
Researcher, developer, consultant and entrepreneur in the field of energy technology, in particular sustainable, regenerative energy technologies.
Competencies and Interests Required
Basic knowledge and enjoyment of engineering and natural sciences, interest in energy technology issues, interdisciplinary work. In addition, basic knowledge of mathematics, electrical engineering, chemistry/materials engineering and thermodynamics should be brought along from the Bachelor's degree; however, these can also be acquired during the degree programme, if necessary as an adaptation semester.
