Objectives
The aim of the Bachelor's degree programme is to prepare students for highly qualified jobs in the field of vocational education and training. The programme combines engineering or economics content with business education studies in which fundamental knowledge in educational psychology as well as vocational pedagogy and vocational didactics are taught.
The Bachelor's programme is embedded in a consecutive Bachelor's-Master's model and can be continued at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg in the Master's programmes
- Teacher training at vocational schools,
 - Vocational Education and Training Management and
 - International Vocational Education
 
be continued.
Career Perspectives
The Bachelor's degree leads to a polyvalent degree profile. The degree can be continued in Master's programmes at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. In addition, graduates are qualified for, among other things:
- Engineering or economic fields of activity, especially in connection with fields of activity in the vocational training sector (e.g. teaching/learning materials sector, new media, etc.)
 - Specialist and management activities in initial and continuing vocational education and training in the private sector
 - Vocational and qualification counselling or
 - Teacher at training institutions in the private sector (e.g. in inter-company training courses, in training for master craftsmen and industrial foremen, in vocational adaptation training).
 
Competencies and Interests Required
Interest is expected in studying engineering and technology or economics and in working in the future professional fields.

Note: For admission to the school preparatory service, evidence of relevant practical work experience totalling 52 weeks or relevant vocational training must be submitted following a Master of Education.
